Ohaeawai

Ohaeawai is a small town in the Far North district in the Northland region of the North Island of New Zealand. It is located at the junction of State Highway 1 and State Highway 12 about 250 km from Auckland. The Battle of Ohaeawai found in 1845 near the community of place on Pā Pene Taui. The city is located west of Kaikohe, Bay of Islands to the east.

When the 2006 census was 711 inhabitants Ohaeawai, a decrease of 15 since the census of 2001.

West of the town is the small spa town Ngawha Springs, the benefits of thermal water in a small geothermally active area. Nearby there is also the new prison of the Northland region. The village is the center of a predominantly agricultural area.

Ohaeawai has a Contributing primary school for grades 1-6. The Ohaeawai school had a decile rating of 2 in 2011 and 163 students.
