Oita Trinita

Oita Trinita (Japanese大分 トリニータ, Oita torinīta ) is a Japanese football club. Between 2003 to 2009, the team from the city of Oita ( Oita Prefecture ) on the island of Kyushu was a participant in the J. League Division 1, of the highest professional league in the country. Currently the club plays in the J. League Division 2

The nickname comes from the Italian word meaning " Trinity ". Also, it may as a combination of the English word " trinity " and the city name Oita be understood. With the Trinity supporting the association by fans, businesses and local government should be symbolized and how the fact that most club name in the league, a European sound.

History

At the instigation of some medium-sized companies in the Northern Kyushu was founded in 1994, the Oita FC to respond to the launched recently called J. League and that this creates the football boom. In the first year wins the Oita unterklassige Regional Championship and increases in the Regionalliga. Already in the two following seasons wins the promoted the championship of the island of Kyushu and the first national title as the master of all regional leagues. Thus Trinita must for season 1997 in the then second division, the JFL, play and kept within the class.

With the introduction of dual-class structure of the J. League in 1999, the club Oita Trinita founded as new. On the introduction of a mascot was abandoned at the time still.

The direct promotion to the top division Oita Trinita missed by one point behind Kawasaki Frontale and FC Tokyo. The following two seasons, the club also narrowly missed the rise.
