OK Budućnost Podgorica

OK Budućnost Podgorica is a volleyball club from the Montenegrin capital Podgorica. This comes from the large sports club Budućnost Podgorica and currently plays in the highest Montenegrin league and in the CEV Cup.

Team

The squad of 2006/07 season consists of fourteen players who all come from Serbia and Montenegro. Trainer is the Montenegrins Igor Kolakovic.

The positions: acceptance (A ), outside attack (AA), Diagonal ( D), Libero (L ), middle block (M), Universal (U) and setter (Z).

History

OK Budućnost Podgorica is the oldest volleyball club of Montenegro. It was founded in 1936 and merged in 1977 it merged with the teams of 13 May and Prolétaire. Since 1991, we participated in the highest Yugoslav league. Due to the political changes of the club later played in the first division of the common state of Serbia and Montenegro, which dissolved in the summer of 2006. In 1995, the Podgorica Bank emerged as a financial sponsor, the club created the first successes.

National League and Cup

In 2000, you could win the cup, after being advanced to the finals in 1999. 2002 and 2005 followed by the first title.

European Cup

Podgorica increases in the 2006/07 season in the Champions League in part. During the draw on 23 June 2006 Podgorica were divided into group A, where it meets the former overall winner Tours VB (France) and Lokomotiv Belgorod (Russia), the German representative evivo Düren and Portol Drac Palma Mallorca ( Spain) and Hypo Tirol Innsbruck ( Austria ). Each team will play five home and five away games. The top three teams from the group will qualify for the play-off round.
