Okhansk
Ochansk (Russian Оханск ) is a small town in the Perm region (Russia) with 7250 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located in the foothills of the Middle Urals about 120 km south-west of the regional capital of Perm on the right bank of the Kama.
Ochansk is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.
History
Ochansk emerged as the first time in 1597 ( according to other sources 1547) under the name Ochannoje (later also Ochanskoje or Ochan ) mentioned in the fishing village dominated by the Stroganov family area. 1781 was the place under the present name of a town. The name refers to a local name of a specific type großmaschiger fishing nets (see also coat of arms ).

The main industry is the textile industry ( the factory Talan AG), along with construction and timber industry.
