Oklahoma City Barons
The Oklahoma City Barons are an American Hockey franchise from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It plays since the 2010/11 season in the American Hockey League.
History
The NHL franchise of the Edmonton Oilers announced in February 2010 that it picks up the license for its farm team, the Edmonton Road Runners of the American Hockey League, after five years of inactivity. This was to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, resettled, where it participates in the 2010/11 season at the AHL game operating under the name of Oklahoma City Barons. The team name was chosen by fans in a competition itself. In Oklahoma, you filled the gap left by the financial -related resolution of the CHL teams Oklahoma City Blazers in 2009. This was due to the too high for a CHL team rent in the Ford Center. To work around this problem, chose the Edmonton Oilers the modernized Cox Convention Center as a home ground.
