Oklahoma City Blazers

The Oklahoma City Blazers were an American ice hockey team from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The team played from 1992 to 2009 in the Central Hockey League.

History

The Oklahoma City Blazers were founded in 1992 as a franchise of the Central Hockey League. In this they were one of the six founding members. Right in the premiere season, the 1992/93 season they went for the first time in the final of the Miron Cup, but were subject to the Tulsa Oilers in the best- of-seven series with 1:4 victories. Their most successful period was the team from 1995 to 2003, when she in the regular season each first in the CHL or the Western / North West and North East Division were. In the years 1996 and 2001, they each won the Miron Cup. In addition, they lost in the 1998/99 season the Huntsville Channel Cats with 2:4 in the best- of-seven series. Before the Oklahoma City Blazers, there was already an eponymous franchise that 1965-1977 were active in the original Central Hockey League and after the Blazers were named.
