Oklahoma County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Oklahoma City, which is also the capital of Oklahoma.

Geography

The County is located just north-west of the geographic center of Oklahoma and has an area of 1860 square kilometers, of which 24 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Logan County, Lincoln County, Pottawatomie County, Cleveland County and Canadian County.

History

Oklahoma County was formed in 1890 as an original county of free territory. The County was settled by white settlers during the first official land ownership acquisition (Oklahoma Land Run ) on April 22, 1889.
