Okobo

Pokkuri - Geta (Japaneseぽっくり 下駄), in short: Pokkuri (ぽっくり) are high Japanese wooden sandals, whose sales tapering forward. Pokkuri - Geta remember platform shoes. They are mainly worn by girls, but in addition also by maiko ( geisha apprentices).

The name comes either arising from the noise when running or by the alternative designation Bokuri or Bokkuri (木履) which " wooden shoe " means. They are also called Koppori ( - Geta ) (こっぽり(下 駄) ) denotes, also according to their sound. In Kyoto the Pokkuri the Maiko as Okobo (おこぼ) are referred to and included in their interior bells that sound when running.

As velvet materials for the belt, the wood of the paulownia tree, or Fir for the footbed and the chestnut tree for the paragraph are frequently used.
