Oktyabrsk

Oktyabrsk (Russian Октябрьск ) is a city in Samara Oblast (Russia) with 27,244 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located in the southwest of the Volga arc Samarskaja Luka, about 150 km west of the Oblasthauptstadt Samara. It extends in a narrow strip about 20 km on the right bank of Saratov Reservoir here to pent Volga down. West goes Oktyabrsk almost seamlessly into the big city Sysran.
