Nevertheless, he was able to celebrate with Dynamo three championships and played nine games for the U-18 selection of the DFV. One possible reason for his few inserts may have been that he was regarded for its Western relationship of the sports officials as a risk. As him with a lifetime ban for the two major leagues is threatened, it changes with the help of former BFC coach Harry Nippert 1 FC Union Berlin.

Although he came from the biggest rival of Köpenick, Seier was allowed to develop over the years the darling of the Union fans. In both games retained the Leipziger just the upper hand, and Union rose from the DDR -Liga.

However, the Unioner managed its chances of promotion and could in the 1985/1986 season with Seier prove not only a safe mid-table premier league. They also reached the final of fdgb Cup (which was, however, lost 1:5 against 1 FC Locomotive Leipzig) and played in the Intertoto Cup against international opponents. In the following years the club ran but increasingly back into the relegation battle and could 1989 not finally hold the class. After the "Iron " initially the re-emergence and in the 1990/1991 season to qualify for the 2nd Bundesliga missed, changed "Leo" - as he was called by the fans due to his hairstyle - to Venezuela to Caracas FC. In the eight years at the 1 FC Union Seier played a total of 226 duty games and was able to achieve 49 goals.

In Venezuela, Seier but initially could fight for a regular place. So he came to Salisu Ibrahim, the brother of gambling for Wattenscheid 09 Ali Ibrahim, not over. His team was in this time but very successful, winning two league titles and one time the trophy. He took part in the 1993 Caracas Copa Libertadores and the Copa Conmebol. But he also got the unstable political situation in the country felt and witnessed two coup attempts with open gunfights in the streets.

Three years later Seier returned to the beginning of the season 1994/1995 back to Berlin and played for the association first division club FC Luebars .. After Luebars had promotion to the Oberliga Nordost just missed (it was tied with the Berlin Master Köpenick SC), changed Seier the Association Premier League rivals SV Preußen Berlin, first as player-coach. However, it ran for SV Prussia unsuccessful due to financial problems. After 1996, the decline was even prevented scarce, Prussia occupied in the following year the last place ( Seier himself took during the winter break again as coach ). In 1998 Olaf Seier ended his active career as a player then final and left the now renamed Weißenseer FC Club.

Coaching career

Seler first coach station after end of his career was the Oberliga Köpenick SC, where he was hired in November 1998 and immediately reached a safe mid-table. In the following season but the club could not reach under his leadership the league (due to a league reform remained only the first ten teams in the league ) and Seier had to vacate his seat in April 2000, shortly before the season ends. He then briefly worked at the district division Sportfreunde Johannistal but had to also prematurely vacate his chair.

In 2001, he oversaw the country's division club FSV Fortuna Pankow, with him succeeded in the regional league in the first season right away the jump. But then it went downhill with the Pankowern, because the direct descent from the fifth division followed a year later, the crash of the provincial to the district league. After Seier in the season 2004/2005 failed to return to the national league, he left Fortuna and went to his old club Union back, there to look after the second men's team in the fifth division. After three years of his contract was no longer there extended so that Seier again became coach at Köpenick SC ( also Association League ) in July 2008.
