Olaf Winter

Olaf Winter ( born July 18, 1973 in Neustrelitz ) is a former German Rennkanute.

Winter began his career in canoe racing at WSV unit Neustrelitz and has been delegated to the SC Neubrandenburg later. In 1996 he moved to KG food.

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, he was more than 1000 m together with Thomas Reineck, Detlef Hofmann and Mark Zabel Olympic champion in the four-man kayak. In the 1999 World Cup he won with Jan Schäfer bronze in the double kayak over 1000 m. At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, he finished with Andreas Ihle in the double kayak over 1000 m in fourth place and finished after his career.

He then studied journalism and Economic Policy at the University of Dortmund. Between 2004 and 2010 he worked as a commentator for canoeing events at the television Euro Sport. He is currently working as a press officer for Unity Media KabelBW.

Olaf Winter lives in Hattingen, is married and has three children.
