Old Road is a place in the Saint Mary 's Parish on the island of Antigua, in the State of Antigua and Barbuda.

Location and landscape

Old Road Village is located on the south coast of the island and is the capital of the Southwest. It is separated by the Shekerley Mountains from the rest of the island, above the town is the Mount Obama (formerly Boggy Peak, 402 m), the highest mountain of Antigua.

The place has about 1100 inhabitants. Old Road is divided into Old Road West against the Cades Bay towards, Old Road Central, Old Road North at the foot of the mountain, Old Road - Morris Bay on the Morris Bay and Grace Bay and OldRoad - Claremont at Carlisle Bay and the North East.

Economy and infrastructure

With the interior of the site by the Fig Tree Drive through the district Claremont is connected by the Shekerleys after Swetes, along the coast, a road leads after Boland's on the west coast. Falmouth is in the east no road leading to the coast. To the west of the city, the road leads to Mount Obama.

The village has a primary school and a church.

Old Road is a tourist resort. In Claremont, the Curtain Bluff is the luxury Hotel Carlisle Bay, between Morris and Grace Bay Hotel
