Oldenburg T 5.1

The steam locomotives of Class T 5.1 of the Oldenburg State Railways were tender locomotives for use in passenger train service. They were constructed after the model of the Prussian T 5.1. Like their Prussian sisters they had a rough running at higher speeds. Therefore, during delivery or design changes have been made to the drive, such as the extension of the Gesamtachsstandes. But even these measures did not succeed. The company has Hanomag produced by the Oldenburg T 5.1 in the years 1907 to 1921 a total of 20 copies.

The German Reichsbahn took over in 1925 all 20 locomotives as Class 71.4 and gave them the numbers 71401-71 420 They were decommissioned until 1930.
