Ole Christensen

Ole Christensen ( born May 7, 1955 in Pandrup, North Jutland ) is a Danish politician and Member of the European Parliament. He is a member of the Social Democrats in Denmark, which is part of the Party of European Socialists, and is a member of the Committee for Labour and Social Affairs in the European Parliament.

Christensen has studied business administration. 1971-1976 he worked as Ironmonger. In 1976, he joined the Life Guards and the Queen was doing there until 1990 his service. From 1980 to 1990 he was a council in Leibregiment the Queen.

1990 graduated Christensen training as Leistungssport-Trainer/Berater at the training school of Aalborg. Subsequently, he worked there as a teacher until 1992. It was followed by various consultant activities, such as a management consultant at the Economic Aalborg (1992 to 1998), labor market consultant for the union SID North Jutland (2002 to 2004) and i since 2004 Advisor to the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions Landsorganisationen Denmark in North Jutland.

Christensen's political career began in the 80s. He was from 1982 to 1989 Deputy Chairman of the Section Brovst the Landsorganisationen i Danmark, 1984-1988 Board Member of soldiers and non-commissioned officer union HKKF, Member of the Federation of Trade Unions is. 1989-2004 Christensen was a member of the City Council of Brovst. During this time he was mayor from 1998 to 2002, and from 2002 to 2004 vice-mayor of the city.

Cristensen was Deputy Chairman of the Working Market Council North Jutland (2001 to 2004), Chairman of the Social Committee and Member of Council of the Municipal Association of North Jutland (2002 to 2004).
