Ole Reistad

Ole Imerslun Reistad ( born June 26, 1898 in Oslo, † December 22, 1949 ) was a Norwegian athlete and an officer in the Royal Norwegian Air Force, most recently in rank Colonel.

At the Summer Olympics in Antwerp in 1920 he reached the 14th place in the pentathlon, and in 1922 he became Norwegian champion. In the same year he was awarded the Egebergs Ærespris for skiing and athletics. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 in St. Moritz, he wore at the opening ceremony of the Norwegian flag and led, then the rank Lieutenant, the Norwegian winning team in the demonstration contest military patrol.

When the German forces attacked Norway on 9 April 1940, Reistad served as wing commander the defense operations at the airbase Bardufoss. For his services he was awarded the St. Olav Medal.
