Oleg Shevtsov

Oleg Borisovich Shevtsov (Russian Олег Борисович Шевцов; born November 29, 1971 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a retired Russian professional ice hockey goaltender. During his career he played for HK Spartak Moscow Severstal Cherepovets and Torpedo Yaroslavl, HK Avangard Omsk, HK Dynamo Moscow, CSKA Moscow HK and HC Traktor Chelyabinsk in the Russian Super League.

Career

Shevtsov first played from 1989 to 1997 when HK Spartak Moscow. For the 1997/98 season the goalkeeper moved within the League Severstal Cherepovets to where he played until then best year of his career. This earned him an appointment to the Russian squad for the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, where he won the silver medal with the Russian team after a 0-1 final defeat against the Czech Republic. He played as a second goalkeeper behind goalkeeper Mikhail Schtalenkow and Andrei Trefilow but no single game.

In subsequent years, played for five other teams in the league and one of the first Russian second division. Most recently, he played in the 2005/06 season in the Belarusian league for the HK Keramin Minsk and HC Dinamo Minsk.
