Olegario González de Cardedal
Olegario González de Cardedal ( born October 2, 1934 in Lastra del Cano, the district of Santiago de Tormes, Province of Ávila ) is a Spanish Catholic theologian and priest.
Life
González de Cardedal studied only in Ávila, where he was ordained a priest in 1959. Then he continued his studies at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich, where he graduated in 1964.
González de Cardedal was appointed to a chair at the Pontifical University of Salamanca. In this position, he participated in the Second Vatican Council. He was also a member of the Real Academia de Ciencias Morales y Politicas in Madrid.
In 2011 he was awarded the right conferred by Pope Benedict XVI Foundation " Ratzinger Prize".
