Oleh Suk

Oleh Suk ( born June 26, 1965 in Ternopil ) is a Ukrainian rock musician who plays bass guitar mainly, but also acoustic guitar and synthesizer.

Life

He began his artistic career at the Lviv Polytechnic with sound and bass experiments. An intensive search led him to the popular Lviv jazz band " Melodrome ". The result was two consecutive years awards at the " Crystal Lion " Jazz Festival in the late 1980s. The musician founded the art-rock band " Catharsis". From a andertalbjährigen collaboration with guitarist Louis Konopko the band " Tea Fan Club", which consisted 1989-1993 arose. After her resolution Oleh created the project "Ulysses", played bass guitar in a band called "Glass Bead Game" and joined the band " Dead Rooster " (1992 ) where he plays today.

From 1995 to 1996 he organized together with the composer and musician Yuri Pokalchuk Yurko Duda literary and musical jazz group " Lights of Big Cities ".

In 2003, Oleh under his own project ... but the time as a river ... in contact with "Black September." The group was right on his wavelength, and he joined as a keyboard player. Under the name " Gorgisheli " there was a new start for the group.

Own Projects

1995: The " IS " was an attempt to capture the former Lviv music. About 50 people were involved. Oleh wrote the music, the lyrics were from the poets Bohdan Lepkyj, Bohdan Ihor - Antonych, Vasyl Patschovskyj and Oleksandr Oles. On the album recording musicians and bands were involved, which were very popular too at that time: " Splash Jeremiji " and Taras Chubay, " Dead Rooster ", " Tea Fan Club", "999", the band members of "The Brothers Hadjukin "and the debutants " Okean Elzy ", Lesya Gerasimchuk and" Royal rabbits ", " Pikardijska Terzija "," Monuments of Architecture " and" Ruslana ".

2003: ... but the time as a river ... continuation of the project "IS". Participating composers were: Yuri Andruchowytsch, Jurij Pokalchuk, Ihor Rymaruk, Kostya Moskalez. Some musical newbies of 1995 ( " Okean Elzy ", " Pikardijska Terzija ", " Ruslana " ) are now big stars of Ukrainian show business. Other involved newcomers ( " Godo ", "Black September," Yurko Lavrin, Svitlana Kyrylchuk ) gave the project new life, adding new compositions.
