Oleksandr Yaroslavsky

Olexandr Wladilenowytsch Jaroslawskyj (Ukrainian Олександр Владиленович Ярославьский; born December 5, 1959 in Mariupol ) is a Ukrainian businessman, patron of the arts and sports official and is considered one of the richest men in the Ukraine.

Jaroslawskyj trained as a police officer and was until the early 1990s in Kharkiv worked as a police inspector. After the independence of Ukraine in 1991, he completed a business career and was at times the president of UkrSibbank, one of the largest Ukrainian banks. Jaroslawskyj is also the founder and principal owner of the Development Construction Holding (DCH ), a conglomerate which is active in the financial sector and in the construction industry and also the industrial enterprises as well as a number of quarries belong.

From 2002 until 2006 belonged Jaroslawskyj at the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament.

Jaroslawskyj was since 2004, president and chief sponsor of the football club Metalist Kharkiv. During his presidency, the team between 2007 and 2012 reached six consecutive ranked third Premjer - Liha. He financed in large part the conversion of the Metalist Stadium and the airport, the city of Kharkiv. These construction projects were largely instrumental in that three preliminary matches of the European Football Championship 2012 were held in the city. Jaroslawskyj holds a PhD degree in technical sciences, he married his third wife and has four children. In 2011, the Polish journalist Barbara Wlodarczyk documentary Król Charkowa created ( German: The King of Kharkov) about him.
