Oleksiy Mazikin

Oleksiy Masikin, (Ukrainian Олексій Мазікін; born February 16, 1975 in Kharkiv ) is a Ukrainian heavyweight boxer.

Amateur

Masikin was a very successful amateur. In 2000, he participated in the Olympic Games in Sydney in part, hit the New Zealand representative, but lost in the second round to the eventual champion and southpaw Audley Harrison on points.

2001 at the amateur world championships in Belfast, he achieved his best result and suggested, among other Cuban Pedro Carrión, but lost in the finals to eventual early professional world champion Ruslan Chagayev. At the Goodwill Games in Brisbane in the same year he lost to Alexander Povetkin and Carrión.
