Olga Engl

Olga Engl (* May 30, 1871 in Prague, Austria - Hungary, † September 21, 1946 in Berlin) was an Austrian actress.

Life

Growing up in an Ursuline convent, she received acting lessons with Anna Four Sing- captain at the Prague Conservatory. In August 1887 she made her debut as Bertha in The Conspiracy Fiesco at the Deutsches Theater their home town.

1888 she moved to the city of Gdansk Theatre and from 1889 to 1892 she appeared at the Berlin stage. From 1892 to 1895 she appeared at the court theater in Munich, from 1895 to 1897 at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg and from 1897 in Hannover at the Deutsches Theater. It acted in the subjects of the salon lady and heroine. Important roles were Mrs. flame in Rose Bernd, Mrs. Alving in Ghosts and Nanderl in the peasant farce The high tourist.

Since 1911 Olga Engl participated in the silent film, where she was a very frequently occupied Klein Actress. She starred in about 200 productions mothers, grandmothers and aunts often count's or princely origin.
