Olga Fikotová

Olga Connolly (born Fikotová; born November 13, 1932 in Prague ) is a former discus. She won at the Olympic Games in Melbourne, the Gold Medal in their discipline.

Olga Connolly was born in Czechoslovakia and won under her maiden name Fikotová 1956, the gold medal at the Olympic Games. In these games, she met the U.S. hammer thrower Hal Connolly know. They married in October 1957, and Fikotová launched from now on under the name Connolly for the United States. Connolly was five times U.S. champion in discus throw (1957, 1960, 1962, 1964, 1968) and even participated four times in the Olympic Games, but won no medals. In their recent Games in Munich in 1972 she was flag bearer for the U.S. team.

She has four children and is since 1973 (other sources: 1975 ) by Harold Connolly divorced.
