Olga Slavnikova

Olga Alexandrovna Slawnikowa (Russian Ольга Александровна Славникова, scientific transliteration Ol'ga Aleksandrovna Slavnikova; born October 23, 1957 in Sverdlovsk ) is a Russian journalist and writer, who was honored in 2006 for her novel in 2017 with the Russian Booker Prize.

2017 a love story in the Ural Mountains in the midst of a new revolution, 100 years after the October Revolution. Slawnikowa himself comes from the Urals to the Asia-Europe border. Their love story is in accordance with the Russian Booker Prize jury " a real novel, not just a small part of life as a story, but life as a whole". Critics compared the book even with the works of Vladimir Nabokov. The novel 2017 has not yet appeared in German translation.

For her novel in 2017 Slawnikowa was awarded the 2006 Russian Booker Prize. Connected to the ceremony was a cash prize of 20,000 dollars.
