Oliver Boberg

Oliver Boberg (* 1965 in Herten, Recklinghausen district ) is a visual artist and art educator. He lives and works in Fürth and teaches art theory at Ehrenbürg school in Forchheim.

Life and education

Boberg was born in 1965 in Herten and studied in the years 1985 and 1986 Art History at the University of Würzburg. From 1986 to 1993 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. In 1989, Boberg got a France Bavarian State Scholarship for a stay at the Cité des Arts in Paris. He received another grant in 1990 by the Lions Club in Nuremberg.

Work

His works deal with the non-places in our immediate urban environment. His works are grounded on an extensive photo archive, from which he selects details, colors and textures and it consists of, in his models to a stereotypical architecture.

Awards

Oliver Boberg 1989 he received the Audience Award at the city run. In 1997 he was honored with the Bavarian State Prize for Young Artists for photography. Furthermore, Boberg in 2003 received a grant from the Association Förderkreis Fine Arts in Nuremberg and in 2005 the prize of the city of Nuremberg. In 2009 he was honored with the Fürth Culture Award.
