Oliver Kirk

Oliver Leonard Kirk ( born April 20, 1884 in Beatrice, Nebraska, † 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri ) was an American boxer.

Kirk participated in the Olympic Games in 1904 and won first, after a win against George Finnegan, the gold medal in the bantamweight. After five kilograms he lost in less than two weeks of weight, he could also take part in competitions in the weight class featherweight, where she won also the gold medal. In this weight class, he managed to beat his opponent in the first round knockout in three fights. He is the only boxer ever to win in two different weight classes at the Olympics two gold medals.

Between 1912 and 1915 he was also for a short time as a professional boxer active, but only won two out of ten fights and ended his career.
