Oliver Tobias

Oliver Tobias ( born August 6, 1947 in Zurich, Switzerland, as Oliver Tobias Freytag ) is a British- Swiss film and theater actor.

Life

Oliver Tobias was born the son of actors Maria Becker and Robert Freitag and grew first in Zurich with his parents along with two brothers on. His brother Benedict Freitag was also an actor. In 1958 Tobias attended a boarding school in London. In 1964 he left school and toured with a rock band through Germany and Switzerland. From 1965 to 1968 he attended the East 15 Acting School in Loughton (Greater London). He then continued his acting training at the Ecole de Dance in Zurich continued.

His first success as a performer had Tobias from 1968 in the musicals Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar in London, Amsterdam and Tel Aviv- Jaffa.

In 1969 he was on the side of Donald Pleasence and Shelley Winters his film debut in the British feature film Arthur! Arthur,. In Germany, he was the title role in the TV series King Arthur known ( Original: Arthur of the Britons ), which was produced from 1971 to 1972. Since then, Tobias has been committed for many international film projects, but also accepts repeatedly theater roles. In 1982 he played the role of the seductive devil inside a fist - interpretation in the music video for the single Hymn of the British pop group Ultravox.

From his first marriage Oliver Tobias has two daughters from his second marriage two sons. He lives with his family in London.
