Olivier Sanou

Olivier Sanou (born 2 July 1975) is a former track and field athlete of Burkina Faso.

Sanou began his career as a high jumper. In this discipline, he won the bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships in 1996 in Yaoundé Africa. On the other hand, he retired at the 1996 Olympics in the qualifier without a valid attempt.

He then moved to the triple jump. At the Track - Africa Championships in 1998 in Algiers, he finished in third place. 2002 and 2004, he was African champion in the triple jump. He also won at the 2003 Pan-African Games in Abuja the bronze medal. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in the qualifying.

Olivier Sanou is 1,85 m tall and had a competition weight of 85 kg. His younger brother, Idrissa Sanou is active as a sprinter.
