Olivos is a district ( barrio ) of the city of Vicente López in the province of Buenos Aires, located in the metropolitan area of the capital city Buenos Aires, the Buenos Aires. The area has 75 527 inhabitants ( INDEC, 2001 ) and a population density of 9,809 inhabitants per km ². Before the entirety of the Partidos Vicente López was declared a single city in 1939, Olivos Once a city and the capital of the partidos. History

Olivos was located on the trade route Buenos Aires - Cordoba and was well known in the 18th century. Since 1770 the city got its present name, indicating an olive tree planting a land owner, Domingo de Acassuso in the area. Later, the then Viceroy Antonio de Olaguer y Feliu and German settlers, Hernán Wineberg acquired, land in the present area, which in turn was sold in 1860 for the construction of a railway line on. After the inauguration of the railway in 1863, many were attracted by the peace and easy access to the capital and Olivos developed rapidly. 1897, the church Jesús en el Huerto de los Olivos was ordained. 1905 were divided on adoption of the Partido San Isidro, it was the Partido Vicente López Olivos as the administrative headquarters.

In 1917, the first clinic and a marina were inaugurated. The opening of the National Road 9 in the 1930s, increased again the attractiveness of the location for daily commuters. 1941 founded the family of Carlos Villate Olaguer, a great-great grandson of Antonio de Olaguer y Feliu, a 35 -acre land for construction of the presidential residence. The House in the Neo-Gothic style was designed by Prilidiano Pueyrredón. Here also the Pact of Olivos was signed.
