Oltingue

Oltingue (Alsatian Oltige, German Oltingen ) is a commune with 737 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. Oltingue located in the canton Ferrette, in the arrondissement of Altkirch and is a member of the Association of Municipalities Alsatian Jura.

Geography

The place is located two and a half kilometers from the Swiss border at an altitude of 400 meters on the banks of the River Ill. The coming of Wolschwiller Pfaffenbach receives at the height of Oltingue the name Limendenbach. The village center is located ( north ) and Wolschwiller ( south ) on the connecting road between Fislis. Basel is located 23 km away north-east of Oltingue.
