Olve Eikemo

Abbath (* June 27, 1973 in Bergen ) is the pseudonym of Norwegian musician Olve Eikemo. He is a member of the bands I and Immortal and played previously held at Old Funeral.

Career

Eikemo belonged in 1988 to the founding members of death metal band Old Funeral, which released two demos. Together with guitarist Harald " Demonaz " Nævdal he founded the band amputation, which also brought out two demos. In 1990 Eikemo, Nævdal, Jørn Inge Tunsberg and drummer Armagedda formed the band Immortal, first appears as a vocalist and bassist in the Eikemo. In the albums Pure Holocaust and Battles in the North Abbath played additional drums. After Demonaz suffered tendonitis in 1997, Abbath switched from bass to guitar. The albums Damned in Black and Sons of Northern Darkness produced by Abbath.

In 2003, the band broke up Immortal. Abbath founded together with Armagedda, the Enslaved guitarist Arve Isdal and the former Gorgoroth bassist TC King, the band I, which released their only album so far Between Two Worlds in 2006. A year later, Immortal reformed. Apart from his main bands Abbath appeared as a guest musician on the bands Dimmu Borgir, Enslaved and The Battalion. In addition, he plays in the Motörhead cover band Bömbers in which he mimes the singer and bassist Lemmy Kilmister.

Abbath was with Demonaz ' sister married and has a son with her.
