Olympia Dukakis

Olympia Dukakis ( born June 20, 1931 in Lowell, Massachusetts ) is an American actress of Greek descent.

Life

Olympia Dukakis won the 1988 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role of Rose Castorini in the romantic comedy Moonstruck. Tying it has since been repeatedly occupied as a strong character, often gifted with wry humor lady of mature age.

The daughter of Greek immigrants is married to actor Louis Zorich since 1962 and has three children. She is a cousin of Michael Dukakis, the former Massachusetts governor and presidential candidate for the Democrats in 1988.
