Olympia (London)

Olympia ( originally National Agricultural Hall ) is an exhibition hall in London in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham area. The client was the National Agricultural Company. In June 1885, the construction began. Building contractors company was Andrew Handyside, the architect was Henry E. Coe.

It was opened on December 27, 1886. Today's Olympia Grand Hall Hall was called at the time of its completion as the largest built of steel and glass building in Britain. The central hall has a length of 138.15 meters and a width of 76.2 meters. The construction cost was 131 573 pounds sterling.

1896 there was a first extension, which is called the Pillar Hall. 1923 a second hall was built, which is now called Olympia National Hall. 1929 was added at the Olympic Hall Two, which was originally called the Empire Hall.

1959, added an extension called West Hall of the Grand Hall. In 1987, the Olympia Conference Centre Conference Centre was opened in Olympia Two.

Today's operating company is EC & O Venues, which also operates the Earls Court.
