OM Group, Inc. is a specialty chemical manufacturer headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, USA and production facilities in Europe, Asia and America. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the OMG and had about 2900 employees before the acquisition of Vacuum melt. OMG Kokkola Chemicals Oy in Kokkola, Finland, with a quantity of 9299 tonnes ( 2010), the world's largest producer of cobalt.

Foundation and History

OM Group was founded in 1991 by the merger of the American Mooney Chemicals, Inc. with Outokumpu 's Kokkola Chemicals Oy in Finland and Vasset, SA established in France as Mooney Outokumpu Group. In 1993, Outokumpu 96% of the group to the Exchange, 4% remained in the possession of James Mooney.

2007 Joseph M. Scaminace announced a long-term growth plan through product innovation and tactical and strategic acquisitions:
