Omala (Greek Ομαλά, (n. pl. ) ) Was, until 2010, the smallest independent municipality ( Kinotita ) on the island of Kefalonia in the homonymous valley. It was established in 1973 as a rural community ( Kinotita ) and consisted only of the parish seat Valsamata as well as the villages Epanochori ( Επανωχώρι ) Micháta ( Μιχάτα ) Agii Apostoli Valsamaton ( Άγιοι Απόστολοι Βαλσαμάτων ) and Agios Eleftheros ( Άγιος Ελευθέριος ). Omala went in 2010 to the newly created municipality of Cephalonia, where it has since formed a district.

In the field there is the Agios Gerasimos Monastery ( Μονή Αγίου Γερασίμου ), and the robola wine is produced. The former Wassereichtum of the valley gave him the name Valley of the 40 wells. The secluded location of the valley is often used for horse riding.
