Oman Professional League

The OFA Oman Mobile League, also called OFA League, is the national first football league of Oman. It is sponsored by Oman Mobile and owes this name. Master record is Dhofar with nine championships, followed by Fanya with seven championships.

Season 2009

September 11, 2009 by 21 clock the Omani championship started with a opening match at the stadium Seeb. It ended three months later in December 2009. OFA Oman Mobile League 2009 consisted of twelve teams that met in 66 games. The participating teams were Oman Club, Al -Nasr, Al Nahda, Al -Shabab, Al Khaboura, Al Arouba, Dhofar, Al Suwaiq, Muscat, Al Taleya, and Saham Al- Seeb Club. To do the criteria of the Asian Football Confederation ( AFC) in the average number of audience enough, the venues were limited to six: mainly been in the Sultan Qaboos Sports Stadium ( SQSC ) in Bauscher, a district of Muscat, played. In addition, found games held in Sib, Ibri, Salalah, Sur and Sohar.

History

Five years after the Erstaustragung the Sultan Qaboos Cup football competition was first held in 1975. In the first two seasons of the then new championship Fanya won the title. By the end of the 1980s, the championship was held under the name of Super League. From the 2008/ 09 season the league was first sponsored by Oman Mobile and now bears her name.

Championship

Since the inaugural tournament in the championship was played 33 times already. During this period, ten different teams have won the title at least once.
