The Open Multimedia Application Platform ( OMAP ) is a proprietary processor architecture made . OMAP is a registered trademark of the U.S. technology manufacturer Texas Instruments. OMAP processors are designed for use in smartphones and other mobile devices, and are based on the ARM architecture.
While OMAP1 OMAP2 and most were used in mobile phones, since OMAP3 allow some affordable development boards the general use of these powerful ARM Cortex -A chips: BeagleBoard, PandaBoard.
