Omar Abd al-Razaq

Umar Abd al - Razzaq (Arabic: عمر عبد الرزاق, DMG ʿ Umar ʿ Abd ar - Razzaq, also: Omar Abd al - Razaq, Abed Rayek; * 1958 in Salfit ) is a Palestinian economist and politician ( Hamas). He is finance minister of the Palestinian Authority.

Life

Razzaq comes from a farming family. He attended high school in Salfit and his PhD in 1986 in the United States at the University of Iowa. Then worked as a professor of economics at the University of Nablus, when he was appointed on 29 March 2006 as Finance Minister of the Palestinian Authority. On 29 June 2006, was arrested along with 63 other Hamas members in the framework of " Operation Summer Rains " Umar Abd al - Razzaq of Israel.
