Omas

OMAS ( Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni ) is the name of an Italian manufacturer of writing instruments, fountain pens, especially in classic style. Since its founding in 1925 by Armando Simoni ( 1891-1958, " Cavaliere della Coronia d' Italia " ) is the headquarters of Bologna.

After the death of Armando Simoni in 1958 his daughter Raffaella and her husband Angelo Malaguti took over the company's businesses. Followed you to the company's peak in 1983 her then 18 - year-old grandson Gianluca Malaguti, until finally the company was part of the LVMH group in May 2000.

The fountain pens are even today still equipped with one originating from the 1930s, elaborate piston technology ( capsule- less piston mechanism with screw thread ) and with handmade ebonite ink tails and are based on the classical Greek design which was favored by the founder, in particular the model of range " Doric " of the U.S. manufacturer's choice - Eversharp.
