The Ombrone Sasso d' Ombrone ( Cinigiano )
The Ombrone (also Ombrone Grossetano and Ombrone Senese called ) is a river in Tuscany, Italy. It crosses the provinces of Siena and Grosseto from north to south.
Course
It rises north-east of Siena at San Gusmè ( a part of the town of Castelnuovo Berardenga ) and ends after 157 km in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its catchment area covers 3494 km ², its main tributaries are Arbia, Merse and Orcia. It flows through the towns of Castelnuovo Berardenga, Rapolano Terme, Asciano, Buonconvento, Murlo, Montalcino, Civitella Paganico, Cinigiano, Campagnatico, Scansano and Grosseto.
