OMC (Band)

OMC was a pop band from Otara, Manukau (district of Auckland, New Zealand). The acronym stood for Otara Millionaires Club - an ironic reference to the fact that Otara is one of the poorest districts of Auckland. The band consisted of Pauly Fuemana and Alan Jansson.

The precursor of the band was called originally Otara Millionaires Club and had a local hit with We are the OMC. After these precursor band in mid-1995 separated, put Pauly Fuemana ( born February 8, 1969 † 31 January 2010), the rapper of the band, and Alan Jansson common musical work under the pseudonym OMC continued.

Both wrote the piece together How Bizarre and had a worldwide hit with it in 1996. In 1997, the album How Bizarre was published. Further success came from, however; OMC is a typical one- hit wonder. Pauly Fuemana died in January 2010 at the age of 40 after a brief illness at a hospital in Auckland with pneumonia.
