Omelek Island
The Omelek Islands are a part of belonging to the Marshall Islands Kwajalein Atoll. The islands are a total of 3.2 acres (0.032 km ²) in size, the majority of which is attributable to the main island Omelek.
Population
The island is uninhabited (at times military is stationed on some of the islands ).
History
The islands were used for a long time as the launch site for rockets of the U.S. military. It is part of the Kwajalein Missile Range. The last military test was probably in 1996. Since 2006 will start there company SpaceX civil, orbital launchers from Falcon 1
Climate
The climate is hot and humid with a rainy season from May to November. The islands are occasionally detected by typhoons.
