Omer Taverne

Omer Taverne ( born July 22, 1904 in Waudrez, † October 10, 1981 in Dax ) was a Belgian racing cyclist.

1922 and 1926 won Omer Taverne as an amateur his home race Binche -Tournai - Binche, which was held just a few miles from his birthplace away. From 1927 to 1936 he was a professional, he was regarded as a sprinter. In 1924, he won Liège- Malmedy, Liège and in the same year third in Brussels and Paris. He twice competed in the Tour de France: In 1929, he won, although he belonged to no team in that year, the third stage and was 21 overall, in 1930 he won the fourth stage. In 1930 he won in the Championship of Zurich.

After his cycling career opened tavern, whose parents came from France, a bicycle shop in Paris.
