OmniFocus is a commercial self-management program of the company The Omni Group for Mac OS X and iOS. It works on the scheme 's Getting Things Done (GTD ).

History

OmniFocus is the development of Kinkless kGTD scripts for Omni Groups OmniOutliner. Said Kinkless scripts ( kGTD ) were developed by Ethan JA Schoonover to expand OmniOutliner to functions of GTD. The Omni Group has finally Schoonover and Merlin Mann put together a team to develop OmniFocus.

In a comparative test of software for task management in the 12/2008 issue of the journal MACup it reached the first place. Were tested in addition to OmniFocus: Cultured Code Things Desktop ( 2nd place), Thinking Code Dejumble Beta 1.2 ( 3rd place) and Funky Cloud Shaker Life 1.2.3 (4th place ). At Macworld 2008 OmniFocus received by the online service The Mac Observer the Choice Award.
