Omoa

Omoa on the map of Honduras

Omoa is a small port town in the north of Honduras, west of Puerto Cortés. The city lies on a narrow bay of the same in the vicinity of the largest bastion in Central America, the Fort San Fernando de Omoa. The fort was built in 1759 and used by the Spaniards to defend against pirates.
