Omroep NTR

NTR (proper spelling: ntr :) is a Dutch public broadcasting. He emerged from the previous institutions NPS Teleac and RVU on 1 September 2010.

Priorities of NTR are information, education and culture. The colon in the logo stands by its own account for the content that provides the sender. Chairman Joop is Daalmeijer (formerly NPS).

History of previous

The Nederlandse Programma Stichting was founded on 1 January 1995 when they took over the tasks of the Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS ), cultural, informative, broadcast minorities and youth programs. By 2006, the NPS television broadcasts sent primarily via the transmitter Nederland 3, after a reform program, all programs of the NPO they ran well on the other two channels. Chairman of the NPS was Roger van Boxtel, who is also a member of the party Democraten 66. The Director General, Willem van Beusekom, died on 21 May 2006. Was succeeded by Joop Daalmeijer.

According to the plans of the Cabinet Balkenende II it seemed that the NPS had been dissolved in 2008. The reason for this was stated among other things that the member would loose NPS (as opposed to other Dutch broadcasters ) do not fit into the new system, which was the Cabinet for public broadcasting in mind. The collapse of the coalition government, " Balkenende II" these plans were discarded, the NPS was not resolved.

Teleac ( Televisie academie ) was founded in 1966 as a visual radio. In 1996 it merged with NOT ( Nederlandse Onderwijs Televisie; founded in 1962 )

RVU was founded in 1930 as a radio from the Bond van Nederlandse Volksuniversiteit Volksuniversiteiten. Key points of broadcasting, which broadcast from 1983 until TV shows, and thus renamed RVU Educatieve omroep, were on life, ideology and religion, the broadcasts were considered stimulating.

Shipments

According to the Dutch Media Act NTR produced a comprehensive program to achieve their RELATED on cultural and ethnic minorities. An example is the program " Lijn5 " trying to reach the urban youth subculture.

Another known, produced by NTR series is Dunya & Desie (formerly NPS), which is about two girls from different origins. The series has won many awards and aired by ZDF in Germany.

Also on the program are the popular children's programs Sesame Street and Het Klokhuis. The latter format is popular and removed with the program with the mouse comparable due to its mix of knowledge questions and sketches and adults.

Even NTR holds the rights to the U.S. series Six Feet Under.

On September 6, 2010 a few days after its launch of NTR, launched on Nederland 2, the new newscast Nieuwsuur, a cooperation of NOS and NTR. It is the successor of NOVA / The Hague Vandaag, a show with background reports to world events. The program was broadcast in 1992 for the first time. The name NOVA ( Latin for " new") is a portmanteau of NOS and VARA, the competent institutions. After its founding in 1995 rose also NPS. Nieuwsuur also brings the latest news and sports headlines as opposed to NOVA.
