On a Storyteller's Night is a music album by Magnum.

The album was released in 1985 and belongs to the genre of melodic hard rock. It is the fifth album by the band. With this release, Magnum succeeded artistic breakthrough.

Genesis

When the keyboard player Mark Stanway 1983 left the band to work with Phil Lynott, was hired in 1984 Eddie George as his replacement and Jim Simpson as the drummer for the stepped out Kex Gorin. After a 6-week UK tour Tony Clarkin started on the songs for On a Storyteller 's Night to write. Before the recordings in the Abattoir studio in Birmingham Mark Stanway returned to the band. For the recording of the producer kit Woolven, who previously worked with Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott and David Gilmour was hired.

Cover Design

The cover was designed by Rodney Matthews. The artist also designed the covers for the albums Magnum Chase The Dragon, The Eleventh Hour, Sleepwalking, Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow and Into the Valley of the Moon King.
