Ondřej Liška

Ondřej Liska (* July 14, 1977 in Brno, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech politician of the Green Party ( Strana zelených ).

Life

Liska studied political science and religious studies and then became involved in the International Youth Conference and religious work. He was a member from 2003 to 2005 the city council of Brno. From 2003/2004 he worked as a consultant for the Green Group in the European Parliament. In 2006 he was elected to the Czech Chamber of Deputies. In December 2007, he took over after the resignation of his party colleague Dana Kuchtová, in the Topolánek government, the Office of the Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, which he made back in May 2009 after the overthrow of the government.

After the poor performance of the SZ in the European elections (2.1%) and the resignation of party leader Martin Bursík Liska was entrusted with the transitional chair and the top candidate of the Green Party for the early parliamentary elections in 2009, but after a negative vote by the Constitutional Court against the premature dissolution of parliament were canceled. At the party congress in December 2009 Liska was confirmed with 170 of 253 votes ( remaining with two rival candidates ) as party chairman and led the party so well in the regular parliamentary elections in the spring of 2010, in which the Greens 2.4%, significantly re- enter parliament missed. However, Liska was confirmed in November 2010, with 125 of 209 votes in the party chairmanship.
