Ondřej Sekora

Ondřej Sekora ( born September 25, 1899 in Královo poles; † July 4, 1967 in Prague) was a Czech writer, children's book author, cartoonist, journalist and graphic artist.

Some of his characters - Ferda the Ant ( Ferdinand ), the beetle Pytlík ( Bug Dub ) and the ladybug lady Beruška (Miss Seven Point) - are in the Czech Republic known to almost everyone. They come from his children's books, the first of which Ferda Mravenec appeared for the first time in 1936.

More adventures of these characters are such as Ferda v cizích službách ( Ferda in foreign service ), Trampoty brouka Pytlíka mládence ( The Torment of beetle Pytlík ) or kousky read Ferdy Mravence ( The antics of the young Ferda Mravenec ) in books. The figures were also used as templates for various cartoons.
