One Droopy Knight

One Droopy Knight is an American animated short film directed by Michael Lah from the year 1957.

Action

A city in the Middle Ages is threatened by a dangerous dragon who lives in a cave near the castle. The king offers the hand of his daughter who can defeat the dragon. There notify two knights: Sir Droopalot and Sir Butchalot. Both before venturing out to the cave of the dragon, but they are a treat again and again by the dragon as toys and defeated, especially since Droopalots sword at the dragon snout like rubber is bent and therefore is not a serious weapon.

While Butchalot sometime looking into the distance, Droopalot does not give up, but he loves the princess very much. As all attempts to defeat the dragon fail, Droopalot keeps crying the portrait of the princess in his arms. The dragon appears, the princess stands on a beard and gets a fit of laughter. Droopalot gets angry and beats the dragon ko He receives the hand of the princess, he tells the story of the victory over the dragon. This, in turn, lives now as a cigar lighter tame in the castle.

Production

One Droopy Knight came on 6 December 1957 as part of the MGM cartoon series Droopy Dog in CinemaScope in the cinemas. From Droopy, voiced by Bill Thompson, and his opponent will be Sir Butch Droopalot and Sir Butchalot here. The plot is inspired by the 1949 short animated film released Señor Droopy.

Awards

One Droopy Knight was in 1958 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film " nomination, but could not prevail against Birds Anonymous itself.
