One Man Band (film)

One Man Band is a four-minute short film from 2005, produced by Pixar. It is available on the DVD of the computer animated film Cars.

Action

A tired -looking musician begins on a deserted square where a fountain stands in the middle of, to play a multifunctional instrument. While playing, he looks down on an empty tin cup and lets his eyes wander across the square. Suddenly, a little girl comes onto the pitch and goes straight for the fountain, without considering the musician. When she wants to throw a gold coin in the fountain, makes the musician with a high-pitched musical sound attracts attention. The musician begins to play again and the girl is interested in him. During the game he pushes with his left foot, the tin cup to the front. When the girl hesitantly looked at the cup after the end of the music game, he hints at the girl with a gesture, set into the coin there. Immediately before the girl is planning this, sounds from the background guitar music. The musician looks surprised in the direction of the music and the girl turns around.

A string musician opens a hanging on a squadron paper roll on which he is shown playing the violin. Then he starts on a stringed instrument to play and accompanies himself on a flute. Fascinated by this melody the girl walks over to him. Still playing, the player leans slightly forward, while a head figure steps out of his hat on a scissor joint construction, which is also wearing a hat, which automatically swivels in front of the head and the girl indicates into down his coin there. When the girl wants to do this, the first musician begins to play again, while he balances on a drum. This acrobatic over these estimates, however, and falls to the ground. After a short silence the strings musicians just shakes his head and begins his hand to play again. The first musician struggles to his feet and lies down again to the wheel in order to win the girl's attention for themselves. Visibly irritated, the strings musician draws the bow with a ghastly sound of his string instrument and drops him to the ground. The short film was 2006 Best for an Oscar in the category of animated short films nominated in 2006 but lost to the short film " The Moon and the Son: An Imagined Conversation".
